And so it was Christmas…

December 30, 2012 By SuzLoveland 1 Comment

Christmas came and went in a flurry this year.  I still can’t believe that it’s all over and in a few days, our Christmas decorations will be packed away and our home will be back to normal, ready for a brand new year.

We had a wonderful and busy Christmas day spent with our families.  We really enjoyed catching up with everyone and also the amazing food!  We were very spoilt with a delicious lunch at my Aunty’s house followed by a beautiful dinner at my sister-in-law’s place.  YUM!

I love the magic of Christmas and how special it is to watch Emma’s face light up with excitement and joy.  Emma loves giving just as much as she loves receiving.  She wrapped presents for both Andrew and I and presented them to us Christmas morning before she opened her own gifts from Santa.  I was lucky to get two new cookbooks for my Thermomix and Andrew, well he scored himself a new grip ball to play with Emma when we go to the beach.

After Christmas day, we have spent the past 5 days in hibernation, doing as little as possible.  There have been a few catch ups with friends but not a lot and I have hardly looked at any Social Media.  It has been so good to have Andrew home and to not have to be anywhere.  We have spent the bulk of the past 5 days at home enjoying each other and our space. Just the four of us. Bliss.

On Christmas day, I thought about all my family and friends, those I saw and those I didn’t and how I hope they all enjoyed their Christmas this year.  After today, we are looking forward to the beginning of a new year and many catch-ups with family and friends.

Here is a little taste of our Christmas.

Emma and Chloe paid Santa a visit. Emma had a good chat to Santa while Chloe waved and blew me kisses.

On Christmas morning, Emma helped Chloe unwrap her present from Santa before she opened her own.

And Chloe, she didn’t really care about any of it. She just liked the wrapping paper.

We spent Christmas morning with our beloved Oupie.

On Boxing Day, time stopped and we picked up where we left off from Christmas morning. Chloe bugged Emma while she put together the Lego she got from Santa.

That lasted a whole 20 seconds before Emma turned around and told her off.  So Chloe went back to playing with her wrapping paper…

Over the past few days, the girls have been able to spend lots of time together.  It has been a joy to watch.

And I have had time to do lots of cooking.  I made some cinnamon scrolls today from my new cook book.  Delicious!

I hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Christmas and that you too are enjoying the gift of family and friends.  I know we are!  xoxo
